Giovanni Adami (1964) joined Van Berings as a Partner in 2017, after having been Partner at SEA-Studio Avvocato Ezio Adami (Venice-Milan 1999-2017) and having worked in the Admiralty Department of Longanesi Cattani (Venice, 1993-1999) and Studio Enzio Volli (Triest, 1990-1993).

Giovanni Adami leads the Family Estate and Inheritance practice and regularly handles high-value matrimonial finance proceedings and sensitive children issues for an enviable domestic and international client base; he is regularly engaged in divorce and ancillary relief proceedings before both ordinary and juvenile courts.
Giovanni Adami routinely provides high-level expertise in international separation and financial remedy matters, particularly in relation to child abduction, surrogacy and maintenance and matrimonial finance issues involving real estate and business interests, trusts and offshore structures, inherited wealth and foreign enforcement proceedings.
Seamlessly working together with our Corporate Law and Tax Law teams, Giovanni Adami effectively assists high net-worth individuals and families with the accumulation, management, transfer and protection of personal wealth, including:
- wills, general inheritance agreements and post-mortem tax planning;
- tax and estate planning for individuals; succession planning for closely-held businesses; compensation and retirement planning for executives; immigration and tax planning for multi-national families.

Maritime & Admiralty
Giovanni Adami is also the Head of our Maritime & Admiralty Practice, mainly focusing on charter parties, bills of lading, shipbuilding, collisions, casualties, fire and explosion, salvage, general average, groundings, total loss, towage, offshore and limitation.
Working together with our Banking and Finance Team, he provides business effective legal advice with respect to sale and purchase, syndicated financing, refinancing of vessels or fleets.
Giovanni Adami leads the Emergency Response Team, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to respond to any maritime incident.
