Luca Lippolis (1966) joined Van Berings as a Partner in 2017, after having been Counsel at LMS (Milan, 2012-2017), Latham & Watkins (Milan, 2008-2012), Clifford Chance (London, 2007-2008; Milan 2001-2006) and Baker & McKenzie (Milan 1997-2000).

Banking & Finance

Luca Lippolis is the Head of our Banking & Finance Department. He advises banks, securities firms and other financial institutions on a wide array of issues associated with financial services regulation and regulatory capital, as well as on securities and derivatives transactions, and mergers and acquisitions in the financial sector.

He advises on a full spectrum of financial products, including asset finance, corporate & investment grade lending, derivatives & structured finance, leveraged & acquisition finance, projects & infrastructure finance, real estate finance, restructuring & insolvency, and trade, commodities & export finance.

Luca Lippolis combines sector knowledge and technical expertise to assist domestic and international financial institutions, hedge funds, private equity funds, pension funds, and insurance companies in negotiating a wide array of deals that includes public and private Asset Backed Securities, Residential or Commercial Mortgages Backed Securities, Collateralized Debt Obligations, trade receivables securitization and securitized warehouse financing facilities.

Project Financing

Luca Lippolis has a deep knowledge and long-standing experience in advising banks and sponsors in structuring project finance transactions primarily operating in the fields of power generation, energy (including renewable energy), photovoltaic plants, waste-to-energy plants, combined cycle plants, natural resources and infrastructure.

Intellectual Property

Luca Lippolis also has broad experience on assisting clients in protecting their intellectual property rights, including matters involving the commencement of trademark infringement, trademark counterfeiting and copyright litigation, the development and implementation of domestic and international anti-counterfeiting programs, the investigation of infringing or counterfeiting activities, trademark prosecution, licensing, manufacturing compliance and product security issues.
