The Terms and Conditions of Use contained herein are the terms and conditions under which van Berings provides the contents, software, database, format, graphic and written works and all other materials (“collectively “Contents”) published on this website (“Website”) and the basis on which van Berings allows access to it.
van Berings International (“van Berings”) is an international law firm structured as an association of independent firms, which operates through a number of professional firms and constituent entities (“Member Firms”) located throughout the world to provide legal, tax, corporate finance and other client related professional services.
The Member Firms are constituted and regulated in accordance with relevant local regulatory and legal requirements and the attorneys, tax advisors and other professionals acting for any Member Firms are subject to the rules of the professional regulatory bodies whom they are admitted according to the jurisdiction in which each Member Firm is based.
van Berings helps coordinate the activities of the Member Firms but does not itself provide legal or other client related professional services to clients. The use of the name van Berings is for description purposes only and does not imply that the Member Firms are in a partnership or are part of a LLP. The responsibility for the provision of services to the client is defined in the terms of engagement between the Member Firm and the client.
In accordance with the common terminology used in professional services organizations, references to "partner" or "principal" means a person who is a partner, or principal or equivalent in a Member Firm, and reference to an "office" means an office of any such Member Firm.
Each van Berings entity provides legal or other client related professional services in particular jurisdictions and is subject to the laws and professional regulations of the particular country in which it operates. Whilst each van Berings entity will continue to preserve clients’ confidentiality and legal professional privilege, information will be exchanged with other van Berings entities to check representations by other van Berings entities and for research, practice management, training and administrative purposes.
In countries where van Berings does not have its own presence legal services are provided through associations with leading independent local law firms which have adopted various practices and procedures that are aligned with van Berings’ entities. Such “van Berings Partner Firms” are not affiliated with either van Berings International or other Member Firms but are owned and managed by their respective members, partners or other principals.
